5Same as Robeks!
By Liam’s Mom
Since my local Robeks just closed, I had to resort to making my own Acai Energizers at home. Luckily, I used to work at Robeks so I knew the recipe. This is the exact same puree that Robeks uses for their acais! To make the exact acai energizer you will need frozen strawberries, blueberries, pineapple sherbet, and nonfat frozen yogurt. I make mine without the sherbet and yogurt and it still tastes very similar. I’m going to start playing around with frozen pineapples and shredded coconut too!

4Nice taste
By Kalin K. Bae
This is pretty nice to use when you are making smoothie. It’s pre-sweetened, so I don’t use extra sugar. It’s delicious with banana, strawberry, blueberry and even with chocolate!

5Very good- part of why I feel healthier
By Deborah C. Donovan
For a year most mornings I have a smoothie- usually made with the Puree when I want it mixed with tarter other ingredients and the similiar product Smoothie, when I want it sweeter with often banana. It continues to feel like a healthy start to the day.

  1. Sickenly Sweet…Zola will not answer emails
    Rating:1 out of 5 stars
Unless you want to pay for sugar and not much else don’t buy this !! The label has no information at all of what you are getting as far as the amounts . You can buy pear juice, apple juice, white grape juice and caffeine(guarana)for much less than this . I assume that anyone looking for Acai , wants Acai and not sugar and other cheap juices . This one , even when you dilute it with half water or add equal amounts of ice is still so sugary it is sickening . Unless you like things so sweet they are almost “gritty” don’t buy this .

Zambazon has great juices sold in markets which are kept in the cooler section. They not only taste great but even tell the approximate number of Acai Berries in the quart size bottle ( as I remember aprox. 270 berries ) . When you buy Zambazon you know what you are getting. When you buy this one all you know for sure is that you have purchased a lot of sugar and the rest you just have to guess at .

I love Acai juice , especially the Zambazon Original . They sell mixed juices with blueberries, pomagranate etc… If I had tried this one first I would have had such a bad opinion of what Acai was I probably would have never tried any other brand .

As I write this(Jan.29,2010) the price has dropped by over $11.00 dollars from what I paid just a month ago, and this accounts for the “ship and save” option I thought was a good idea. This should tell you something. Lowering the price drasticlly is for a reason, and I think it’s because it is not only cheaper now as far as price but cheap PERIOD. By adding so much sugar they don’t have to add Acai . I will cancel my auto-order on this and will never again be fooled by any company who wishes to “get on the band wagon ” of a wonderful product like Acai and sell anything just to make money . Paying more for Zambazon or any other product which you can comsume makes more sense than buying one for less and not being able to use it at all , unless you use it to cook with like I have had to do. Even then you don’t know exactly what you are getting, except SUGAR because Zola refuses to tell you. So much sugar a diabetic could never think about drinking it .

I have tried several times to contact Zola, as other reviewers here and at other sites have said they tried to do. They will not even acknowledge you have sent them an email, much less answer you.

Undoubtly someone will say in a comment or review that I am a plant from Zambazon because I say good things about it . Amazon sells Zambazon products, but not the juices which I wrote about because , I assume, they need to be kept refrigerated . For those who say I am a plant I say I don’t give a **** , buy this stuff if you want and find out for yourself that all you get is 6 cheap cartons of sugary, purple colored goop. Who knows, maybe you like paying for purple sugar . Also maybe Zola will either change their formulas, change their policies of puttting information on their products, or get out of the business . Acai is supposed to be good for your health. It is also said by many to aid in the lose of weight. How can anyone control weight by consuming mass amounts of cheap sugar ? Don’t let this goop influence your opinion of a great food, ACAI.

  2. Yummy & Easy, Needs Nutrition & Calorie Info Though
    Rating:4 out of 5 stars
There weren’t nearly enough reviews on this site or others so I hesitated to buy this product. Since you have to buy a case of it I feared wasting a bunch of mix if I didn’t like it. Still acai is hard to find and the chain smoothie cafes charge $6.50 a pop so I took the risk. It paid off.

This product is yummy and easy to blend into smoothies. Along with plain ice Sometimes I add frozen blueberries or raspberries just for change and that turns out great. The mix blends fine when fiber power or other supplements are also added. I have also added a plain, no fat Greek yogurt with good results. It’s pretty sweet so keep that in mind. The mix is tasty and I’m confident that I can add a variety of different flavors with good results.

I love for the box the mix is packaged in. There is a safety seal inside which is good. Opening the lid for the first time breaks the seal but sometimes is also damages the neck of the box. Then, when I pour some of the mix seeps out from the tear and makes a mess. I finished one box and was careful opening the second one so no tear. Hopefully, I’ve mastered the task now. The container does store easily on the refrigerator door which is nice although I suppose it is shelf stable at least for short periods after opened.

Other than the lid snafu, my only other notable complaint is that lack of nutrition or calorie info in the package. It also isn’t available on Zola’s website (as of Sept. 15, 2009 which was the time I checked.) I would use this way more often if I knew whether this was a healthful treat or a tasty indulgence. Is there a ton of sugar? How much sodium? I can only guess. Zola-Amazon put nutrition data for this product at least on the sales page!

I hope this review will the next curious purchaser. I’d buy this product again and would suggest it to friends looking for a convenient, tasty acai smoothie mix. It is now $6 cheaper than when I purchased it several weeks by the way.

  3. I want Zola!
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
Makes the Best smoothies! Put anything in a blender and then just Add Zola! I only use a half cup or so per smoothie along with the other stuff.

  4. Tastes very good but high in sugar
    Rating:3 out of 5 stars
This seemed like a good deal to me given the high price of acai, which is a flavor I love. The product tastes yummy and hopefully has some health benefits, but it does contain sugar and for my taste TOO MUCH sugar. Reading about this product on the internet it’s hard to even find out that there’s sugar in it, but the package says it’s there without saying how much. Acai is kind of like chocolate/cocoa–both really do need some sweetening to be enjoyable, and once you sweeten them a bit they taste great, but if you buy commercial products that have been pre-sweetened it’s easy for me to take in too much sugar while enjoying the flavor. I am very cautious about my sugar intake. I guess I might try the Zola Acai pulp without sugar next, and do my own lighter sweetening, using sweeteners like agave nectar and Stevia, but this would be a lot more expensive than this sweetened mix was on sale. If you otherwise would have bought an acai smoothie at Robeck’s or some other smoothie bar, it’s true you will save a lot by buying this product and making your own smoothies very easily at home. And those smoothies will taste great. So for a lot of people this would be a worthwhile product to buy. I have been interested in acai–I have experimented with Monavie (great flavor, good health effects, VERY expensive) and with the Sambazon freeze dried acai (priced much more reasonable for how much acai you get but to me not as tasty). I am still looking for the perfect way to include acai regularly in my diet and enjoy its flavor and health benefits without spending too much. I will use up these Zola Smoothie mixes and enjoy them, but would not buy them again because my intuition tells me I should not take in this much sugar per serving.

  5. Didn’t order this from Amazon for the customer service!!!!
    Rating:2 out of 5 stars
Had to order this product because I can’t get it directly from the manufacturer. After the FIRST shipment was lost I was told I could not order a replacement until it was “officially” lost…which would be 9 days! Obviously they didn’t realize that I needed this product for my business…even when I told them I would pay for another shipment and would keep BOTH…I was told that if shipment #1 showed up I needed to “refuse” it and send it back to Amazon!!!! Correct me if I’m wrong…but isn’t that more work???

Long story short…shipment #1 is still “in transit” and shipment #2 arrived in 3 days…I was out of product for 10 days all together!

Thank you Amazon for passing the buck on to UPS and thank you UPS for passing it back to Amazon!

  6. Acai pure plus guarana and other fuits. Delicious for smoothies
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
How easy can it be to get a healthy real fruit drink with no sugar added?

The Acai and guarana of course mostly comes from Brazil although the packaging is done in the US. I saw this product being used in a national chain of health fruit drinks store and was very happy to see if on Amazon at such a great price, matching the price of bitter and acidic orange juices in the supermarket. When you consider that you put equal amounts of ice to make a smoothie then you double the volume (i.e 92 oz). At about $5.00 per container with the automatic delivery that is a great deal (OJ would bite almost 3 times that for the same volume). I got 2 packs of 6 to start. Received one today and already got the whole family to fall in love with this health way to start and end a day.

Add banana and cereal flakes and you get what is sold for $7.00 per small bowl in those national chains. Considering that ACAI is the latest healthy fruit you can’t go wrong. I also find that after a healthy smoothie of this fruit you don’t feel as much hungry and end up eating less and potentially loosing weight. At least that’s what they say in Rio where Acai fruit is consumed a lot.
