First off I Duane Waits am not a doctor, but I am a person who “Suffers” supposedly from High Cholesterol. My most eminent cholesterol reading was 306 regarding two years ago. My Doctor made mention various times with regards to the possibleness of taking cholesterol letting down medication. Now don’t get me defective I was a little concerned because up until that point I was very ill-informed. I begun to question whether I necessitated to move into a class of humans who necessitated to incorporate numerous drastic changes in order to get my cholesterol level down to a manageable 200 or below. My National Guard Physician commend I consider cholesterol letting down medication. Of course before digging into the facts and history of cholesterol I almost became a victim of the mainstream medical institution agenda of “making people who are in need of medical care out of healthful people”. I could have been on a every day dose of medication that would have done more hurt than good. The doctor told me and I quote “The next time you order pizza you better eat the box and throw away the pizza” you have to confess with affirmations like that from a so-called seasoned professional would have any person reeling over what to do next. I asked the popular question “do they have any side effects” and I got the biased opinion of “NO, I recognise assorted humans who are doing great and their cholesterol levels are way down.” I met with my civil doctor who saw my levels and commended I reduce my cholesterol naturally using the supplement Red Yeast Rice. I had no problem with taking natural supplements if it was going to reduce my cholesterol levels down to the general safe levels. Little did I recognise around that time the essential ingredient in Red Yeast Rice was lovastatinin, which was also the active pharmaceutical ingredient in prescription drugs for high cholesterol such as Mevacor. Because of lovastatin the FDA had tossed the idea around of reclassifying red yeast rice as a prescription drug. Not knowing these facts, I played the doctor’s game for a few months and my cholesterol levels did come down to around 220 the lowest in in regards to a year and a half. Did my cholesterol go down because of lovastatin which was ordered to be got rid of from the shelf back in 2007? I started taking the supplement in early 2008, who knows if I got a lot of of the pre-recalled red yeast rice. The question still remains is high cholesterol levels the real killer that mainstream medicine and Big Pharma say it is? Around the time of my last visit to the doctor in Aug 2008, I decisive to actually get informed. I always wondered whether I was getting the entire story in regards to cholesterol. I found a radio station here in central Texas called the Genesis Communications Network (GCN), 90.1 on the local radio dial. The firstborn show I do not forget most vividly was “The Power Hour” hosted by Joyce Riley. This show presents cutting edge selective information and proceeds to debunk all of the mainstream medical institution system of belief with facts from little known, major break through medical studies from around the world. One of her main reoccurring guest is Dr. Sherry Rogers who has written a book called “The Cholesterol Hoax” she also has a heap of other books related to healing your body naturally and getting all your blood levels to where they need to be for you as an individual. I likewise came throughout Shane Ellison “The People’s Chemist” he wrote the book “Hidden Truths when it comes to Cholesterol Drugs”. Shane, a former pharmaceutical industry chemist, broke away once he saw initial hand the lies and deceptions that came with being in the pharmaceutical industry where making profits superseded making persons healthy. His work is splendid with various documented studies he conducted in his own professional lab. Last but not least is Dr Dwight Lindell a 25 year heart surgeon who broke away, as well, from the mainstream medical establishment. He ran into that cholesterol is not the conventional killer that is causing heart disease. He came across that the silent killer that was found in both high cholesterol and normal cholesterol heart attack victims is “Inflammation”. Reducing cholesterol naturally alone will not reduce inflammation. Taking aspirin which is an anti-inflammatory is more affective than taking statin drugs which may cause a host of other issues like Alzheimer’s, impotence, tooth loss, depression, sudden heart attack, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, polyneuropathy, tendon ruptures, insulin resistance, amnesia, suicide, heart failure and cancers just to name a few. The bottom line is always do your own exploration when it comes to your health. The resources I listed above offer an plentiful amount of substitute health care selective information the may save your life and keep you healthful and vibrate to a ripe old age the way God intended. Natural Organic foods and supplements may and will keep you out of the Doctor’s office. Remember it’s your body, you have a obligation to yourself and to your family to make informed choices. |

Detoxify or Die

A mess.
Rating:2 out of 5 stars
First let me say I am a big fan of Dr. Roger’s Detoxify or Die. I have read it four times and have highly recommended to family members. Dr. Roger’s latest book, however, is not in the same league as D or D. For example, she states at the beginning of Chapter 5 that it should be clear that cholesterol is not the cause of coronary heart disease. Yet, she devotes a whole chapter on using supplements to lower cholesterol. If it’s not the cause and is only the messenger, why would we want to lower cholesterol and not address the root cause? Also, there are far too many references to her newsletter and previous books. When I buy a book like this, I want new, useful information, not a passive sales pitch. The information she covers here is nothing she hasn’t addressed before. This is very disappointing, as she puts out a new book every three years. I honestly feel she could have covered a different topic then cholesterol and was surprised by the choice.

Great Great informative book
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
This is probably the most informative health book I have ever read. Sherry Rodgers backs up everything she writes about. It is so full of information I keep rereading it. I’ve read other books by Rodgers but she outdoes herself in this book.
Everyone should own this book
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I received this wonderful book a couple of days ago and find it is very hard to put down! It is very interesting and informative, easy to understand. I did not know that too low cholesterol is not good either! The Table of Contents is very detailed, listing all subtitles and corresponding page numbers, making it very easy to find what you are looking for, as well as an index. Alzheimer’s is reversible! I own all of Dr. Sherry Rogers’ books and have learned from all of them. Her 8-page, Total Wellness Monthly Newsletter, which is mentioned in the book, is excellent as well. I highly recommend this book!
Useful Book

This is a useful book. However, it contains much repetition and could probably have been half the length.
A Must Read
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
This was an excellent book. All of Dr. Sherry Rogers books are written for the lay person to easily understand. She has so much knowledge about the human body and what helps it to function without toxic drugs. I think all of her books should be required reading for anyone interested in optimal health.
