So, you drink PG Tips Tea. Have you ever wondered if it is healthful for you? Most studies on tea’s health gains implicate the green variety. Although it is not as well-known, exploration has been done into the health gains of PG Tips. The basi area PG Tips may help with is very topical. It may help in the fight versus obesity. Japan’s Kobe University conducted a study which showed tea may support people attempting to lose weight. Specifically, tea may support limit the amount of weight gained as well as reduce the damages of high fat foods. In the study, a heap of mice had a normal diet while another group had a high-fat diet. Mice drank tea and water. The study concluded that mice that drank tea gained less weight than those that had only water. PG Tips also may support with one of the world’s biggest health problems. The finding of 13-year long Dutch exploration of 40,000 subjects concluded that a few cup per day could aid protect versus heart disease. Subjects that consumed 6 or more cups per day cut heart sickness by 33%. It also may support you with one of the modern-world’s greatest afflictions. University College London came upon that black teas help in fighting stress. Cortisol, the stress hormone in the blood, was scaled down with consumption of black tea. Tea drinkers were competent to recover from effects of stress sooner. Actually, the exploration described above concentered on black tea and not a specific brand. But PG Tips may be the world’s preeminent brand of black tea. The brand’s origins start out with Arthur Brooke, a tea dealer, in Manchester, England, in 1869. Famously, he employed the slogan “Good tea unites good company, exhilarates the spirits, opens the heart, banishes restraint from speech and promote happiest purposes of social intercourse.” The actual brand name did not start out until 1930, when it was sold underneath Pre-Gest-Tea rather than just as loose to grocers. The brand name was chosen since it was thought to support with digestion before eating. Eventually, it was shortened to PG Tips. The company is oftentimes at the center of the tea business. The company put the tea in bags in 1960. The company was the first, in 1996, to introduce pyramid-shape bags. A decaffeinated version was introduced in 2004 and a 75th anniversary potpourri called Special Blend launched in 2005. A version specifically for the waters of Scotland, called Scottish Blend was developed in 2004. Still made in Manchester, England, PG Tips comes in bags and loose in respective sizes. It offers bags in boxes of 80 and 240. PG Tips Loose commonly comes in an 8.8 ounce box but also may be had in a 3.3 pound bag. The decaffeinated version comes in boxes of 40 or 80 bags and has a full-bodied taste. To get greatest or most complete or best possible health benefits, take a few steps to make the perfective cup. First, use fresh water each time. Never boil water twice. To get greatest or most complete or best possible taste, tea needs to work with the oxygen in water and if you re-boil it, you remove all the oxygen. For black kinds like PG, make sure water comes to a rolling water. Then, put your bag in your mug and then pour over the water. This step is better for the bag and allows it to infuse better. Steep for amongst 3 and 5 minutes, depending on how you like it. Add milk or sugar depending on preference. Be more healthy, drink PG Tips Tea. |

A fine and sturdy everyday tea
By Gary Coffrin
This is a very drinkable blend of Assam, Ceylon, and Kenyan black teas from PG Tips, one of the UK’s most popular brands. Although some California grocery stores (and Cost Plus World Market) stock this tea, I had not tried it until reading helpful reviews on Amazon.
Each PG Tips bag weighs 38 percent more than the Lipton bag (that is available in the USA). As expected, PG Tips makes a stronger brew. Each PG Tips bag has so much tea that I can easily make a 12 ounce mug with a single bag. I drink my tea black, but PG Tips is clearly robust enough to maintain character with milk or sweetener.
PG Tips is a sturdy, straight-ahead blend with more strength than Lipton’s. It is a caffeine-rich tea – in part because each bag has more tea than other brands.
PG Tips uses a pyramid shaped bag that allows more room for tea leaves to expand while steeping. Does it make better tea? I don’t know, but it is a point of differentiation.
HINT: PG Tips also makes a Special Blend black tea that is only slightly more expensive in stores. I much prefer the Special Blend to their regular black tea. The PG Tips Special Blend is a very hardy and rich breakfast tea. The Special Blend is more sensitive to longer steeping times (I usually steep mine less than 3 minutes), but I find the taste more complex and satisfying.
Cognoscenti typically prefer loose tea. Tea bags contain the less expensive “fannings” or “dust,” remains from processing loose leaf tea. And with some others brands of tea (not PG Tips), many people can taste the paper used in the bag.
If you (like I) sometimes appreciate the convenience of bags, I recommend trying PG Tips as a sturdy everyday tea. And, I more strongly recommend their Special Blend as a hardy and rich breakfast tea.

Excellent all around tea
By Jane
We drink a lot of tea in this house, and after trying many other basic black teas have settled on this as the best one all around. For the first pot in the morning to the iced tea later in the day, this is the one we all (four tea-drinkers) prefer.
It is robust without being bitter, does not develop a stewed flavor after sitting in the pot for an hour or so, and is very even in quality from batch to batch.

The Only Tea You Need
By Valarie Pittman
The flavor of this tea is strong and bold without tasting bitter. PG Tips is the best tea I’ve ever tasted and I’ve been drinking it for over 10 years! I’m glad that Amazon.com is selling it because it’s definitely more expensive if you buy from those specialty tea shops. Everyone that I’ve introduced this to loves it. If you’re a serious tea drinker you can’t go wrong with this. It’s the UK’s #1 tea, that says it all!

The Best Cuppa
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I love PG tips but have not always been able to obtain it easily or at a cost I felt was worthwhile. Finding not only what I consider to be the best tea and at a price I don’t balk at AND getting timed shipments with postage paid; what could be better?
Best tea ever

My husband and I were turned on to PG Tips by a friend who is from England. The grocery store shortly thereafter stopped stocking it. This is a much more cost effective way to buy our favorite tea!
Disapointed

I never did get the goods that I ordered, only a credit to my account.
I believe your “seller” screwed up and sent me toothpaste by mistake
but never acknowledged their error.
I will not use Amazon again
PG Tips Tea: Mum knows best
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
My English mother-in-law came to visit us in 1968 and, wisely, brought along her favourite brand of tea, PG Tips. So, it’s been our house tea ever since, improved only by my spouse’s collection of seven or more tea pots collected over time. According to my missus, the key to taste is PG Tips, warming the teapot, using the same water to warm cups or mugs, add BOILING water to the pot from an electric kettle and a few minutes of steeping time. We take our tea with milk and sugar. Lemons are for G&T, which is a different drink.PG Tips Black Tea, Pyramid Tea Bags, 80-Count Boxes (Pack of 4)
PG Tips are the greatest!

I love PG Tips. After living in England for a year, we came back to the States and couldn’t find good tea. Then I searched Amazon and we have been buying them since.
THE BEST TEA EVER!!
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
PG Tips is the best tea ever. Once you try it you could never drink weak tasteless American tea again. I buy it when on sale but at any cost it is worth it!! If you appreciate a ‘nice cup of tea’ then PG Tips is for you!! Makes a great gift for a tea lover as well.
My New Favorite Tea
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
Having grown up in Australia and then moving to the USA to live, I have long missed a good cup of (hot) tea. But no more! I found PG Tips here at Amazon a while ago and I have been buying them ever since.
This is a strong Orange Pekoe tea (basic, medium-grade black tea), much stronger than anything I have found at retail in the US grocery stores. It *will* stain your pot or cups over time, but as many tea drinkers will tell you, this just makes for a better cup of tea. If this becomes unsightly, I take a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser Cleaning Pads, 8-Count Boxes (Pack of 3) to the inside of the cup to remove the stain. According to the box (see my photo), PG Tips is a British blend of Assam, Ceylon, and Kenyan teas.
The pyramid shaped bag allows for more water flow and better steeping, which means more tea flavor from each bag. Make sure you boil your water to a rolling boil and steep for at least three minutes for maximum flavor (as with most black teas, longer steep times will result in a bitter taste because the release of tannic acid). I like to drink mine hot with a splash of milk, at all times of the day.
Enjoy!
Rather Good!
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
My wife and I were shopping at a nearby “Fresh and Easy” grocery store and she spotted PG Tips black tea on the shelves in the beverage isle. She has lived in London and recognized it immediately as one of the top British teas. She says that she seldom has seen it in America, but there it was. Well, “Fresh and Easy” is a British company, so it figures. Of course, we had to pick up an 80-bag box.
My wife loves this stuff and I’d have to rate it rather good. I might add that I much prefer coffee as a beverage but I enjoy tea now and then. I must admit that this tea is much more robust than that with which I’m familiar, mainly Lipton. My wife loathes Lipton, and after trying this tea I can see a substantial difference. Lipton now tastes like slightly flavored hot water to me whereas PG has a good robust flavor. Most certainly, I won’t drink Lipton again with a choice of tea like PG Tips around.
We also like the little pyramid tea bag. I think it contains much more tea than the conventional flat paper bag, and perhaps that in itself promotes the more robust flavor. In any case, this is most certainly an excellent tea and we’ll eventually be back for more.

PG Tips! Shouldn’t the British know best?
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I have been an iced tea drinker all my life, but also enjoy herbal, Green, & Chai teas as well. For my iced tea, however, I was raised on Lipton instant :1/3 tea, 2/3 sugar per 2 quarts water, but evolved to Lipton tea bags, then Luzianne tea bags. (I was very happy with my Luzianne… although hard to find locally) Amazon offered the PG Tips on a ‘Lightning Deal’ at an unbelievable price, so I purchased them. Well… I have 4 huge boxes of Luzianne bags sitting in my pantry that will be given to my mother, as I will NEVER give up the PG Tips! After drinking this tea all year, sweetened of course, I realize the British truly do know their tea. I use LESS bags to brew my tea, as they are a stronger blend, & I haven’t yet had the problem of the tea going “sour”, even when accidentally left on the kitchen counter for 2 days. Now… If I could ONLY get that British accent down!
Too expensive
Rating:3 out of 5 stars
I began buying from Amazon because it was cheaper than going to the closest store that carried this tea.
Now, it’s a matter of if i am going that way or not. Lower your prices!
Great Tea.
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
Great flavor if you like flavor. I have friends that drink their tea “weak” and so if you prefer bland save youself the money and stick with Lipton.
My favorite place to shop, has my favorite everyday tea from home

Great english black tea

Good strong tea. Hard to find black tea. a true english tea time tradition. Only downfall is no tea tags so you have to use a tea remover to not burn your fingers. These are tweezer like devices found at any good tea shop.
What Am I Doing Wrong?
Rating:2 out of 5 stars
I bought a box of PG Tips at Meijer grocery yesterday. I just finished making a pitcher of iced tea using their loose tea, and it is totally gaggable. I used a Hamilton Beach electric iced tea maker that normally turns out good tea. I must have used too much, used 3 Tablespoons of the loose tea and brewed using normal amount of ice in the pitcher. It is reddish looking and has a cloudy mess at the base of the pitcher. Bitter, and awful. I will try again using less tea but I don’t expect to like the taste of this stuff at any strength.
Great Tea & Felt Like I Was Back In UK!
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I was so pleased to see this on Amazon as I used to carry this home from UK when there & haven’t been so happy as to find you can deliver at a good price & great delivery too!
This makes a nice tea & a quick steep when making a SMALL cup or it makes a nice big mug or pot of tea. A lot of my friends have gone to this now & I alternate with the Scottish tea at times.
Thanks for the convenience & sale offers on this tea.
