2. Spiralized zucchini with pesto sauce (pine nuts, basil, garlic, olive oil, parsley) and tomato sauce (pureed tomatoes with spices or herbs that you like)

3. Raw corn chowder with sprouts and greens

4. Yam soup or beet borscht

While there are no set rules to follow, if many times works out best if you eat galore protein at lunch as it takes longer than other foods to digest, and complex carbohydrates at night so you may wind down, relax, and prepare for your nights rest without a lot of digestive action going on after you retire for the night.

Fantastic device – pick your Kindle!

Drinking tea is fun!

These flowering teas are a wonder to behold and fun to watch. The tea ball, right out of the package, looks like a funny colored nut with the scent of tea and jasemin. Place it in the bottom of a tea cup or tea pot (the best show happens in an all glass one), and add hot, but not boiling water, sit back and watch. It’s amazing to see it open up into a beautiful bouquet. The green leaves are the tea (green scented with jasmin) and the flower are one a 12 different selections. As one person said to me, “tea flowers make you sit and relax in a go-go-go world.” I would recomend this to anyone who loves tea.

Assorted Green Tea Flowers but Same Flavor

We got this for my mom and she really likes it. While the tea flowers vary in presentation, they are all “Green Tea with Fresh Jasmine.” It would have been nice to mix up the flavor of the tea. I would recommend this more for presentation than flavor.

Title is a little misrepresentative

Assorted Green Tea Flowers should be called Assorted Jasmine Green Tea Flowers. It’s the blooms that are assorted not the tea flavor. They are all Jasmine. Having said that, it’s a wonderful surprise when you put in the bud and don’t know what kind of flower you’re going to be getting next!

Usually when I buy Jasmine Tea I get the finest- A small 4 ounce bag that runs me $20 and although this tea isn’t as good as what I regularly buy it’s still very nice tasting. The best part is that it’s practically impossible to overbrew. Jasmine Tea in particular can get really bitter easily if it is overbrewed even a bit and I was afraid I would have to take the flower out after a couple of minutes to stop the brewing process. But NO! The makers thought ahead and made it so that you can leave the flower in and it won’t overbrew. The only bad thing about this is that if you like your Jasmine Tea really strong then you won’t like the way this works for you. But strong Jasmine Tea is always bitter so you might want to try a lighter brew like this.
Hint: If you never liked the way Jasmine Tea tasted because of it’s bitterness here’s a trick. Standard instructions for Jasmine include having your water at around 180 degrees and brewing for aprox 2 minutes. Instead of this, try using a lower temperature instead- say 130ish and brew for 7 minutes. What you’ll get is a tea with all the Jasmine and none of the bitterness. With these flowers however you don’t have to worry about brewing time (unless you like your tea VERY weak) and are free to enjoy the flower until your tea is gone.

Perfect Cup of Tea

I drink one to two of these K-Cups a day (have been doing so for 6 mos now). Love it – perfect tea – not bitter not weak. I have come across the occasional K-Cup with a bad lid seal (and it will blow the grinds into the cup then) but I choose not to get worked up over the failure of a 40 cent item when the others in the pack are fine. 2008 EDIT: Ok, , I have to agree with the other reviewer a little more – the quality of these K-cups is inconsistent and they do blow grinds more often then they should. I am still drinking this tea as much as ever as the flavor is not replicated in any other brand. 2009 EDIT: It’s June 2009 now and this is still my main drink. The K-Cup blowout issues seems to have been resolved in the last few boxes. They must have fixed the problem. A great tea.

Highly drinkable

Twinings was founded in London, England in 1706, and has a long and respected tradition of producing only the finest of teas. English Breakfast tea is a mixture of black teas from Sri Lanka, which are blended to produce a smooth yet flavorful tea. Though often served during breakfast, this tea tastes excellent all day long.

Smooth breakfast tea … conveniently made

Great find on Amazon! I had not found a decaf K-cup tea on any of the regular K-cup sties … most decaf offerings were green tea or herbal. (Green tea is prohibited if you take the prescription drug Coumadin)

Smooth and flavorful, does not brew as dark as using a tea bag, but just as rich.

Priced below other teas on other sites and arrived nicely packaged, no extra packaging to dispose of!

The best feature of this purchase was the use by date … over 12 months away. Other sites have sent coffee and teas that had sell by dates within 3 months!

I now use Amazon for all my K-cups because of price and service!

Hands Down Favorite Tea! Good Blend. Good Flavor. Aromatic. Smooth. Great with Milk.

I’ve been drinking this Bigelow green tea/chai blend about 6 months & it is my first choice every time I go to brew a cup of tea. We also have Celestial Seasonings K-cups India Spice Chai, 8.8-Ounce Boxes (Pack of 2) and Bigelow Tea English Breakfast K-Cup For Keurig Brewers, 24-Count, Boxes (Pack of 2) but I go through the Bigelow green/chai blend faster than the other two combined.

As for personal taste, I don’t like plain green tea, but do like chai tea (w/ milk). However, I like this blend even better than just a plain chai blend. I drink this tea with 2% or skim milk & 1 packet of sugar.

This tea blend hits the spot and is perfect for my afternoon tea cravings. As a bonus, one brew fills the office with a nice spicy scent.

I have been drinking k cups for about a year and half. I started off on coffee, but my chronic heartburn had me switching to tea. I’ve tried a lot of tea k cups and this one is by far my favorite. It has just enough spice to make it much more flavorful than the regular green tea k cups (green tea is my favorite tea). This k cup is delicious with Stevia in the Raw brand stevia then pour it over ice! I can drink it all day long…

Tasty and economical!!!

I fell in love with flowering green teas from our local tea shoppe, but I was very dismayed with the price ($4/ball!!!).

I was elated to find this listing since it amounts to about $1.50 per tea ball and it tastes great, better than what we get at the fancy store. It has a light delicate flavor that doesn’t get bitter at all! You can make five pots of tea without degradation of flavor or any increase in bitterness.

I purchased two sets of the blooming jasmine and green flower teas as Christmas gifts. The recipients were thrilled to have received such interesting presents. Both of them raved over the uniqueness and fantastic tastes of the teas. The only negative with these gifts is that it will be a little more difficult to purchase something these hard to buy for relatives will find as delightful this next Christmas!

A fine and sturdy everyday tea

This is a very drinkable blend of Assam, Ceylon, and Kenyan black teas from PG Tips, one of the UK’s most popular brands. Although some California grocery stores stock this tea, I had not tried it until reading helpful reviews on Amazon.

Each PG Tips bag weighs 38 percent more than the Lipton bag (that is available in the USA). As expected, PG Tips makes a stronger brew. Each PG Tips bag has so much tea that I can easily make a 12 ounce mug with a single bag.

PG Tips is a sturdy, straight-ahead blend with more strength than Lipton’s. It is a caffeine-rich tea – in part because each bag has more tea than other brands.

PG Tips uses a pyramid shaped bag that allows more room for tea leaves to expand while steeping. Does it make better tea? I don’t know, but it is a point of differentiation.

HINT: PG Tips also makes a Special Blend black tea that is only slightly more expensive in stores. I much prefer the Special Blend to their regular black tea. The PG Tips Special Blend is a very hardy and rich breakfast tea. The Special Blend is more sensitive to longer steeping times (I usually steep mine less than 3 minutes), but I find the taste more complex and satisfying.

Cognoscenti typically prefer loose tea. Tea bags contain the less expensive “fannings” or “dust,” remains from processing loose leaf tea. And with some others brands of tea (not PG Tips), many people can taste the paper used in the bag.

If you (like I) sometimes appreciate the convenience of bags, I recommend trying PG Tips as a sturdy everyday tea. And, I more strongly recommend their Special Blend as a hardy and rich breakfast tea.

If you’re new to the topic of tea than Tea: The Drink that Changed the World by Laura Martin is the book for you. Beyond the expected coverage of how tea is consumed around the world the book includes a terrific load of basic information on the plant itself, how it is cultivated, managed, and harvested.

Only good if you know zero about tea

At worst, the author is misinformed. She makes her first big mistake early in the book, by referring to the oxidation process as “fermentation.” Those two processes are very different. There’s really not much to learn from this book for anyone who knows anything about tea. I was hoping for a lively history of the tea trade. Now I’m bummed that I spent money on this book. Note: The author is not a tea specialist. Apparently she writes articles for home and garden magazines.

Good look into the history of tea

Laura C. Martin gave the reader a good account of the history on tea and its intimacy with the history of man kind.

I was surprised with the brutality exercised by the British over the Chinese and Indians in order to profit from trading in tea and satisfying the social demand of the British. I have always viewed the British as benevolent and environmental conscious but this book changed that.

Some astounding historical events:
1. The European used tobacco and opium to trade with the Chinese for tea!

2. In 1830, the Chinese imported over 2.5 million pounds of Indian opium; controlled by the British!

3. From 1830 to 1840, the Chinese traded 366 tones of silver to the British, primarily for opium grown in India but controlled by the British.

4. When the Chinese captured and destroyed chests of opium worth nine million mexican silver dollars (one Mexican silver dollars was worth 2.5 pound in mid-nineteenth centry, which is about 169 pounds, or 355 US dollars today), the British sent warships to Canton , where they quickly and efficiently destroyed the Chinese army. The result was the Treaty of Nanking, signed on august 29, 1842. In addition, England was awarded “most favoured nation” status in China. The Chinses were forced to pay for the lost opium and the cost of the war! {However, who started it??”}

5. The British was far from satisfied with the Treaty of Nanking and were impatient to legalise opium, The result was a second Opium War in 1856. Again, the British won easily, and the Chinese legalise opium, and England continued to export Indian opium to China until 1911.

6. The British controlled tea plantations in Assam during the nineteenth century but the conditions on the plantations were devastatingly difficult for the worker. There was rarely enough food and the water supply was polluted. and diseases such as malaria, fevers, diarrhea, dysentery, and cholera were rampant.

7. The British paid for coolie to transport tea from Bengal to Assam and paid for each coolie who delivered the tea alive. “Alive” did not equate “healthy” and in some years, over hald the coolies died in transit, while countless numbers arrived so weak that the died within the year, mostly from cholera. They were treated as just another part of the financial equation calculated by the Assam Company. About 30% of the recruits were women and children. {Now the British feel child labour is deplorable!}

8. Tea was highly taxed; five shilling per pound – equal to thirty -two British pounds today!

The above is only some extracts from the book. You will have to read the book yourself to enjoy other historical events!

In addition, readers were also introduced to the different methods of producing tea and serving tea.
