Most effective acne solution!!!

I have suffered from adult acne since I was 21 and tried so many products, including prescriptions ones, that I have lost track. The only reason I bought this was because it was on sale at Target for 16.99 and I thought what the heck. My expectations were beyond low. To my surprise, by the next day, my blemishes have either cleared or the inflammations went way down. After a week, my skin was almost flawless. Needless to say, when I went on my trip to Asia, I bought it with me. I shared it with two of my cousins who were both suffering from severe adult acne. Two days later, both of them came back to me with amazing results. I would recommend this to anybody. I would however suggest that additional moisturizer is needed afterwards.

Works so fast!

I have been using this product for two weeks now, and I am amazed already at the improvement in my skin. I am 25, and only this year have started having terrible breakouts with whiteheads, blackheads, and milia centered mostly on my cheeks right below my cheekbones. The hyperpigmentation (red marks that stay long after a blemish is gone) has been terrible! After just two weeks with this product already I am getting far less red, inflamed breakouts, and the hyperpigmentation from the previous blemishes has faded dramatically! My whole face feels much smooother and is starting to look even-toned again. The smell is kind of funky, and I find the moisturizer to be a bit greasy for my tastes, but as you put it on at night, these are not deal-breakers, you just go to sleep and forget about it, wash it off in the morning. Bottom line is, after all the peels and “intensive” products I’ve tried, this one works the absolute best, giving me fast, dramatic results.

I am in my mid twenties and have had acne for years. Have used a million things in the hopes of clearing up my face, including Proactive and prescription drugs, with little to no results. My Mom bought this for me on a whim. I tried it with absolutely no expectations whatsoever, thinking it was going to be like all the rest, lots of hype and no results. Interesting book though far, far too much science in it for the average person (BTW – I have a Master’s degree and a former college roommate is now a registered dietician so I’ve been around related books and discussions and still found this hard to follow).

I have read a lot of books on physiology, more specifically hormones and metabolism, written by people with board-certified medical degrees. This book explains almost all of what the others do, plus more recent research, in a much easier to read format with helpful charts and references. I was very surprised a book of this quality could come from a non-degreed personal trainer. I have a new respect for Jillian Michaels for passing along medical researched-based facts (many pages of peer-reviewed medical references in the back if you want to check the sources) and dispelling myths like working out on an empty stomach, and the problems with soy and other substances interacting with hormones. Her own story is very interesting and there is a very thorough section explaining hormones and their interconnecting roles in our health. I’ve already started cleaning out my fridge and cabinets.

Well written thought provoking book, good for focusing the reader to stay on track

A 44-year-old woman that has struggled to lose weight for a number of years writes this review. The combination of too much work, and not enough sleep and exercise resulted in “excess storage tissue” as my darling husband likes to call it. If you have ever struggled with excess weight and couldn’t motivate yourself to stick with a diet for the long haul you should read this book.

The book is subdivided in 10-day blocks as follows:
1. Set up for success
2. Put food in its place
3. Conscious eating
4. Listen to your body
5. Jump-start motivation
6. Emotional eating
7. Triggers and word play
8. Growing stronger
9. Long-term success
10. Put it into action

This book is written in 2 page chapters that you are suppose to read each day. The author presents a very concise and thought provoking idea each day. Then the author asks you to think about the topic and what it means to you and answer a question or two.

By honestly answering the questions in this book I was able to identify long held beliefs that were not serving me well. As a victim or sexual assault in my freshman year of college I connect thinness with danger, subconsciously. This book helped me to bring these thoughts to the surface so that I could recognize them and deal with them before they showed up on my hips. I am not trying to imply that someone with deep-seated underlying issues is the target audience of this book. What I am trying to convey is that I think this book can help the casual dieter, or those that have issues that go deeper. If you are honest with yourself when you answer the questions each day you might be surprised at what bubbles to the surface.

The book is written in a very pleasant conversational tone. The author is in no way condescending, like some other books I have read on the topic. The ideas the author puts forth are very simple yet effective. If you are looking for an awareness of what you do that has caused excess weight to accumulate you will learn something about yourself and your habits reading this book. This book is also full of tips and tricks to keep you on track. In my opinion this is a very useful book from the perspective that it altered my thoughts about food. I recommend this book to anyone that is struggling with excess weight.

If you only buy one book about weight loss, this is the ONE!

This book has been so very helpful to me. I have been dieting since last summer (have lost 55 pounds just by choosing things to eat that are better for me). This book addresses the emotional issues and habits we have that sabotage our success. I find myself repeating some of the “mantras” like “I don’t eat it just because its there” etc. All I can say is that I have never written a review for anything I have purchased on Amazon and I just felt led to share my thoughts with those of you considering this book for purchase. It has been a real help to me, and I give it my highest recommendation. Karen F.

PS Update on review, 6/11/06. I have now lost 75 pounds and keep on going! I continue to read and re-read this book whenever I feel like I need a “boost” to keep going. I can just open it and find a passage (one of the 100 days) that helps me. This price is a small price to pay for a book with so much help!

The Best Book I Ever Read

If you have ever struggled with erratic weight gain, inability to stay on track, no willpower, then this book is for you. It gives you 100 days of easy to read, easy to understand tips for success and help with all those problem areas. I suffer from depression and very low self-esteem and this book helped me tremendously. I use it in conjunction with Linda Spangle’s other book, “Life is Hard, Food is Easy”. Both these books have changed my life and my outlook on food. Food is no longer my enemy and I no longer fear the stronghold it once had on me. Do yourself a favor, invest in both these books. You won’t be sorry.

Don’t waste your time on this camera!

I’m a geek, loyal HP computers for decades, and did a lot of research and thought this was the best deal, eclipsing the new logitech c910, which I will now buy.

This camera, even after firmware upgrade I did from HP support site, did not fix the color problem. Constantly, every few seconds, it would recalc the colors, turning me every shade of red, green and blue.

I’m so disappointed in HP on this one, and others here warned of this issue, yet I thought the firmware would fix it – not.

Don’t waste your time on this one. It needs to go back to the lab for a bit more work.

Bought 2 of these webcams. The one used myself works great, the other used in a different household is always changing colors, sometimes going all red then changing to blue or yellow or some other color. Looked on HP’s website and it said it could possible be low light conditions and to download a driver. Will see how the camera works after the driver has been updated.

Overall a great camera. Auto-focuses and I like the quick launch features.

Not the best, not the worst.

I’ve tried all the new HD webcams available in mid-2011 and this one comes in third place behind the Microsoft LifeCam Studio (first place) and the Logitech C910 (second place). This one has a softer image overall and slower autofocus that tends to miss the mark. If you get a really good price on it, like twenty bucks or so, then you’ll be fine, but for full price you’d be better off looking at the other two cams listed above. Prices are dropping on all three cams right now, so be sure to really shop around for the best price, I got each cam listed above for under fifty bucks each.
