Great Product

I was a little worried about aging so I bought this product. It has a great consistency. I was told it has 6% glycolic acid. I especially like using it at night before I shave. It exfoliates very well. And it’s also great with wrinkles and fine lines. I have some lines around my eyes and mouth and I can tell they have been reduced after using About Face. Nice stuff.

Anti-aging indeed

I haven’t used any facial products in a while before this, except for the occasional cleanser. Being a skeptic, I decided to do a test; I would apply this to only one half of my face. This product works. Within a couple days, I noticed a cleaner looking complexion (reduced fine wrinkles, etc) on the side that I applied to.

FYI: I’m 22 / Male (probably don’t need this but I’d thought I would give it a try)

Great moisturizer. Great smell. Little effect.

I’m 39, and am starting to get some small wrinkles around my eyes. Figured a little Billy Jealousy couldn’t hurt, plus all the obviously not planted at all reviews for this product say such great things about it. Well, this does nothing for to diminish wrinkles after nearly a month of use. So, since that’s it’s primary purpose, I deduct two stars.

On the other hand, it does smell great, and does moisturize pretty well (pretty much all day!). I used this in conjunction with Billy Jealousy Wipeout eye cream (which doesn’t do what it states either), and my face is totally un-dry for the whole day. Now, if you think a decent scent and that type of moisturizer is worth the inflated price of what say, Nivea can do for about half the cost (minus the nice scent), then I suppose this is for you. Otherwise, save some bucks and just go for some Eucerin Lotion, Intensive Repair, 16.9-Ounce Bottles (Pack of 2). That stuff is awesome on my face, too.

Seems to be working!

I bought this product about two weeks ago. I have always had great skin, but as I turn 34 I am starting to notice that orange-peely texture on my cheeks near my nose. This product has definitely reduced the appearance of those pores already! My skin looks nice, and I also see a slight reduction in the appearance of the lines on my forehead. There may be a VERY slight stinging sensation with your first use, but resist the temptation to scrub with the rough side of the pad and that can be avoided. Gentle buffing should be enough. I hope the results will be even more pronounced with continued usage of the full two-month supply! Overall, I am impressed and happy with this product.

Buyer beware

So you mean my “all natural organic” potato chips may not be good for me? I found this book to be a great reminder to us all – Buyer Beware! Just because something is labeled “natural” and might be endorsed by celebrities doesn’t mean its “good” to put in my body.

It is astounding to me how this industry has been able to flourish despite a lack of scientific studies to back up the claims. And I’m equally astounded at the lack of regulation. Ms. Weintraub’s book shows how susceptible we continue to be to good marketing campaigns and how trusting we can be when we are promised a quick fix to what ails us. While there may be some valid uses for some of the drugs & products detailed in the book, users need to have the full facts; facts they are not getting from those handing them out. As an over-40 woman, I will recommend this book to all my friends as they start considering these “remedies” to aging.

Bio-identica Hormones Save Lives

The “Anti-Aging Industry” uses bio-identical hormones as one of its corner stones. It is distressing that Ms. Weintraub wants to throw this life saving therapy in with hucksters selling snake oil. For me, this therapy was absolutely revolutionary. I suffered for 15+ years with chronic daily migraine headaches. Nothing offered by traditional American medicine and Big Pharma helped correct the root cause of my problem, which was a hormonal deficiency. Within days of beginning my bio-identiccal hormone treatment, prescribed by an M.D. who has dedicated his life to this type of treatment, I began to improve. Now, thanks to my doctors, and bio-identical hormone therapy, I am able to live a normal life. The fact that I sleep better, have more energy, and still look at least 5 years younger than my biological age is just a bonus.

Should consumers beware? Of course. But if you find a doctor you trust, with impeccable qualifications in the field of Anti-Aging Medicine, give it a try. You just may find that you no longer need drugs, and that you will look and feel better than you have in years.

I question whether Ms. Weintraub’s years as a reporter for Business Week has tainted her objectivity towards emerging therapies which do not benefit her cronies in Big Pharma?

This book is a platform for pro-hormone abuse propaganda

You needn’t waste your time or money. The book is short on facts and long on incompetence. She spends a great deal of time interviewing con artists who are pushing their treatments for profits. But she gives scant mention or time to recognized experts who can explain the falsehoods presented by the con artists. The book is poorly written. I wonder if the publisher was paid to print it.

It really does work, but give it a few weeks

This serum works. I wasn’t expecting to – - I tend to favor lifting/firming/contour instead of wrinkle/filler products. But I’d bought it as part of the promotional unwrinkle kit. At first, I only used the night cream, because I liked the texture. I didn’t notice any difference, although I liked it. Then, I started using this unwrinkle serum twice a day, not thinking much about it… One day I noticed the wrinkles by my nose/mouth and the line between my eyebrows faded significantly, and I’m still seeing improvements on a weekly basis.

My only complaint is that is doesn’t do anything for lifting or contouring. But obviously, that isn’t what it’s designed to do. Also, I haven’t noticed any improvement around my eye area, but again, that isn’t what it’s marketed for. I almost bought the eye kit today, but I’m going to wait a bit. PTR products have really taken it a notch over the past 2 years. I now have as many favorite products in PTR as I do in Perricone and Kinerase.

My favorite beauty Product

I bought the kit first and it is worth the 68 bucks that I paid. Out of everything that I have tried this is my favorite. I hate putting stuff on my face at night. But the dispenser on the pump makes it easy. I do wish I could see how much I have left though…so as not to run out before I have bought more. I feels really great going on the skin and it feels like my skin absorbs it quickly. I really do love Peter Thomas Roth’s line. I can’t afford everything but this is one product that I save my money for.

You can get all this information for nothing online, and without the personal bias

The three stars are for this book, not the cleanse, which is five-star all the way!

I am on day 18 of the master cleanse, so I think my opinions on this book have some validity. I have in fact been drinking less than half the recommended daily amount of the stuff, and as long as I get enough prana/chi from fresh air and drink tons of pure water, I never need more than that. I feel wonderful and will keep doing it until my body tells me it’s time to stop. My body never lies to me.

Having been vegetarian for 20 years this summer, and organic-only much of that time, I am no stranger to fasting, cleansing and detoxing. For those who are, this is a fair introduction to going for maximum internal cleanliness…but there are many much better books on the subject (Bernard Jensen is a good start). As well, Woloshyn puts far too much extraneous personal stuff about his life in the book; it’s really about him more than the cleanse.

The cleanse is largely about eliminating pointless things from your system, and I think this book is also somewhat pointless, considering that all of this info and about a hundred times more is available for free at various websites, most specifically themastercleanse in dot-org-land. That site has endless testimonies and much more info in general than this book. And it’s free.

Woloshyn also doesn’t give enough credit to Stanley Burroughs, the real mastermind behind the master cleanse. Burroughs wrote a very simple little booklet to sell as cheaply as possible. His goal was true health for all, not personal aggrandizement or profit. Woloshyn merely does what so many modern health writers are doing: take a proven old idea and market it under his name.

All you really need to know is this: you MUST use organic lemons and grade B maple syrup (wherein live the essential nutrients; buy it bulk online and save a ton over Whole Food’s price).
Above all, use as much cayenne as you can stand. I use about ten to twelve times the recommended amount, but my body loves the stuff (endless thanks to Jethro Kloss for that idea, in his incomparable Back To Eden). Perhaps that’s why I need so little every day: the peppers really get the body humming.
And then drink at least 12 glasses of water a day.

And really, that’s it.

Enemas are highly recommended to take the cleanse to another level. But even then, they are not essential, though very wise. Making sure everything is organic and going into top-grade filtered water is. That, and lots of sun and fresh air. One quickly learns that that’s where the real source of life lies. Stepping into air conditioning and feeling one’s blood sugar plummet is a strong lesson about our lifeless modern environment. I’ve ingested maybe a few thousand calories in the last 18 days. How could I be feeling so healthy and alive if we really needed 2,000 calories a day? Long walks in the woods (alone or with a happy dog!) also aid immensely in grounding the spirit and bringing much joy. Nature never looks and feels so sparkling as when one is cleansing.

For those who need a book in their hands to guide them, this is ok. But the original booklet works just as well, and the website I mentioned covers all that’s in this book, and so much more.

Not a bad book…but hardly essential. And when the whole point of cleansing is stripping away all but the essentials, why buy something that’s hardly essential?

Popular and simple detoxification method

This lemonade-like blend of water, lemon juice and cayenne pepper is actually a rather popular and simple detoxification method. I’ve been using it for 12 days and the results are great. Of course I lost a lot of weight but that is not mine concerns. The important think is that I feel rejuvenated light and empowered. I don’t only feel great physically but my mood has also improved tremendously. Staying on the program requires some will power during the first two or three days. After that it is not that difficult. I didn’t feel that hungry any more, but I missed the pleasure of enjoying a meal, especially at the dinner time…

As much as I like this book as a good source for general body cleansing, I find it a little one-sided. There are a number of other good cleansing methods that concentrate on specific body parts such as liver, kidneys, bones and joints, etc. A very good reference for these cleansing programs is a book titled Can We Live 150. In the other book titled Cure the Incurable the author focuses on home-made remedies designed to not only cleanse your body but to also fight some incurable diseases such as diabetes, cancer, etc.

Requires some filtering, but ultimately decent.

I had been thinking about detoxing for a few months now and found out about the Master Cleanse on a web forum I participate in. This book provides all the steps you need to do the cleanse, some very helpful information from the experience of the author, and then a lot of one sided extra information I could’ve done without. The first 50 pages are really just the author talking about his career,and what foods he believes people shouldn’t eat because of the toxins they leave behind. It’s just my opinion that people who want to Master Cleanse already have an idea of why they need to detox. Although he did credit Steven Burroughs for his original work, I felt the author wrote in such a way (in the beginning)that would lead people to believe he’s had a great deal to do with the development of these fabulous ideas like the Master Cleanse and Color therapy. I’m also a little skeptical of his concrete understanding of medical conditions, particularly his claim that the Lemonade Diet and some other adjuntives completely cured his wife’s cervical cancer. I only purchased the book because I cound’t find the original Master Cleanser by Steven Burroughs. I’m still going to order it. Ultimately, this is a very useful book because it tells you how to get the most out of your cleanse, what to expect, and what to do if you’re not seeing the results you desire. If you’re like me and you really want to find out how to Cleanse, skip the first fifty pages and get to the good nitty gritty.
